MLD and Compression
I can recommend a choice of compression garments available on prescription, MLD and compression bandage which can:
• Reduce swelling and pain and soften soften fibrotic tissue
• Improve skin healing and movement
Improve the shape of the limb
3M Coban compression multilayered bandaging
Traditionally short stretch elastic bandages use padding materials to normalise the limb shape and these can be quite bulky and restrictive. The 3M Coban Compression system consists of 1 layer of comfort foam layer and a compression layer.
In this form of multilayered bandaging, the bandages are applied twice a week as opposed to daily or every other day. Patients are able to drive offering greater freedom.
